| Rockledge Dalmatians became our kennel name
after I purchased my first true show puppy in 1998 from Denise Powell, breeder and owner of Aberdeen
Dalmatians in Santa Rosa, California. My husband Tom and I (Sonja) had owned several pets and show
hopeful Dalmatians for over 7 years and found them to be a happy, full of energy, always willing to
please type of dogs. During those years, we fell in love with the breed.
Soon after, we decided to buy a large piece of property in the Sonoma Wine County, where we could accommodate several
dogs for showing and breeding. It took us couple of years to find Denise but when we did, she provided us with one
of her best puppies. That puppy bitch got us hooked in showing and became the foundation for our breeding program.
Ch Aberdeen's Lady Mandoline soon became a champion and was #2 Brood Bitch for the year 2000, after producing 5
champions in her first litter.
All 5 puppies achieved their championships before the age of 2. Four of the
puppies went on to earned multiple Group Placements and One finished the championship by been awarded Winners at 2
Specialty Shows. My husband handled 4 of the dogs and one was owned and handled by a Junior Handler. It has all
been one big high, full of fun, thrills of the sport and great memories to share and cherish with our friends and
family.
